Love Stories of Hawaii

Timeless Love

We fell in love in Maui
Dedicated to Richard

Submitted by Anonymous

The waters of Maui were an amazing array of turqoise, deep blue, lavender and aqua green. I was a first year teacher, escaping for spring break. I had just arrived in Lahaina for the first time. A native Hawaiian named Lani came and sat by me. We were the only two people on the beach. He began telling me stories of the native people, of the fish that lived in the water, which ones to not touch when swimming, which beaches to go to. He was kind and informative. It opened my heart to the real Hawaii. A friend from college arrived that night. He was currently living in Honolulu. We went dancing at the Kanapali resort. The air was so fragrant. The way the palms swayed in the night air was enchanting. We walked on the beach in the moonlight and caught up on old times. We had been friends for three years. Suddenly we were looking at each other in a much different way. The atmosphere of Maui wrapped us in it's arms as we wrapped ourselves in each others arms. The rest is
history. We are happily married, live in Washington and have three beautiful daughters. Thank you Hawaii.
