Love Stories of Hawaii

Timeless Love

Accidentally in love
Dedicated to Jacob

Submitted by Meghan

We met when I was 16 and he was 17. We immediately became friends, fell in love, and have been together ever since. Things weren't always so perfect, tough. As our relationship shifted from friends to something deeper, I had to move away to college. I didn't know I'd fall in love with my good friend so soon after I'd decided to move forever away to college. Falling in love was the last thing on my mind. But that's when it happens. Being thousands of miles away from the man I loved was the hardest thing I've been through. I wasn't complete without my best friend, and neither was he without his. The next semester I moved to a college a thousand miles less far away, but still 500 miles too far. After the first long year away, I was nervous about being together all summer. Would we still be in love when were with each other every day? To my suprise, everything just got better. I never thought I could be so happy. He decided to quit his job and move to where I had just gotten into nursing school. My life feels so much more meaningful now that I get to spend every day with my best friend who just happens to be the best guy you'll ever meet. We made it through long distance, we've been friends for 3 years, a couple and best friends for 1 year and 3 months, and physically (lived) near each other for almost 4 months now. We've built a strong relationship, and have dreamt of vacationing to Hawaii our whole relationship. Being apart, we would talk about just leaving work and school and meeting each other in Hawaii. We dreamt of holding hands walking along the beach, beautiful sunsets, and swimming with dolphins. Being in college leaves Hawaii just a dream for now, but we continue to plan our dream vacation together. It's just another way we have fun and dream; dreams do come true. No one thought we would make it, but that just made us a stronger couple and we continue to prove everyone wrong.
