Timeless Love

Hurdles to a forever family
Dedicated to My husband

Submitted by LaVern

Since I was a little girl, playing with my dolls, I wanted to get married and have a family. I always thought I would be a great mom. I knew the hard thing was going to be finding the right man.

When I met you, I thought you were wonderful and I still do. You're kind, sincere, loving and forgiving. You always know how to make me laugh. After we married in 1996, the timing for starting a family wasn't right. We were both finishing college and our lives were a whirlwind. When we finally got the time to focus on one another again, we decided together that a family was in our future. Although, the year we spent trying was an emotional roller coaster, you stayed strong for us both. Especially, when all I could do is break down, you never left my side. Hearing the news that the chance of having a child of our own was slim, was so devastating. I resented you for some time because I thought if I hadn't been with you maybe my chances of having a child would be different. I was so selfish and mean. I never thought about how you may feel but despite it all, you stayed and loved me. You never gave up on what love I still had for you. You were the rock I needed and I thank you for not leaving me.

Through it all, you were patient and your love was gracious. Once I accepted our infertility, you supported my idea of adoption. I can't express how thankful I am to you because of it. The adoption process was also an emotional roller coaster for us both but we ended up with a beautiful little girl that has brought us even closer together than we were before the infertility. I thank you for the family we have and for the love you give to us both each day. You always have a smile on your face. You're the most wonderful husband and father. Adoption is forever.

Our family, our love and our lives together are forever but because our hectic work and family schedule don't allow us to focus too much time on one another, I think we should find the time to find each other as husband and wife once again. Will you remarry me on our 10th anniversary in Hawaii? You, more than anyone deserve romance in paradise. I love you so very much.

Love your wife,
LaVern
