Timeless Love

Spoiled by Love
Dedicated to My husband Tim

Submitted by Jennifer

When my husband Tim and I got engaged at the young age of 19, one of the first things he said to me was "I can't wait to spoil you all your life."

Our dream honeymoon was a trip to Hawaii. We ended up in Fargo North Dakota instead. True to his promise Tim spoiled me with his love even in the cold tundra that was Fargo!

He has often apologized to me over the years about our rather chilly honeymoon and how some day he will take me to Hawaii. After all, he says "I promised to spoil you all your life."

Little does he know he already has. Our first child was born when we were 22. When I wanted to stay home with her he supported me, worked even harder... spoiling me with his love.

We have three children now 16 years into our marriage. He works very hard and never complains. He's homework daddy, basketball daddy, tickle me daddy....super daddy everyday of the week. Always spoiling us with his love.

I know he still thinks about Hawaii because his computer's screensaver is a beautiful ocean view of where else....? Hawaii.

As with most marriages there have been hills and valleys. Our oldest child has some special needs and we've faced some daunting financial pressures. But through it all he's been a rock, a source of joy and peace in our home. His faith is inspiring, his kindness overwhelming. It hasn't been about where he's taken me, but rather what he's been to me.

He hasn't spoiled me and our children with his love...he has blessed us with it. I would love nothing more than to give him the honeymoon we never had. But, even if I never see the sands of Hawaii....it will always have a place in my heart.
