Second Chance Love

For the rest of my life....."I DO"
Dedicated to Michael Schmitt

Submitted by Pauletta

I never thought my life would change by taking some simple job advice from a friend. I was applying for a certain job and this friend told me he had a friend that could give more information on the mission statement. So, I went in with a big smile and said, "Hi, I'm SSG Samuels. This extremely handsome, older man slowly looked up from his computer monitor with a "who is this woman" look on his face. Not so inviting. To make a long story short, I explained why I was there and we ended up talking for an hour like we had know each other for years. His eyes were mesmerizing, and his smile made me smile non-stop. He was a Robert Redford, McGiver, and GI Joe all wrapped up in one. Before I left his office I knew I had made a friend for life. It was when I got home, I couldn't get him off my mind. I enjoyed his company so much! 2 o'clock in the morning and I was thinking, "He the one. He's the man I am suppose to spend the rest of my life with." I could picture us in Hawaii, on a honeymoon, laughing and playing in the water. Snuggling together on the beach as the sun went down. Looking into his eyes knowing I was Mrs Schmitt. Silly, huh? In seven short years, we went from friends, work companions, dating, to engaged! Even after all though years, I find myself still feeling like a shy, giggly school girl around him. Everyday he amazes me. We have 14 years of age difference but it works perfect for us. No human being is "perfect", but he's awesome, and together we are on cloud nine!
