Second Chance Love

My Bull
Dedicated to Richard Hunkins

Submitted by Cassandra

I met him amongst friends. I was with another man at the time, but when I was released from that obligation, I made sure to introduce myself to him. He smiled and I melted. It was hard not to let him see me blush, and the shadows helped me. He took my hand and kissed it so very romantically. I had to leave that evening, but promised I would get to know him better.

A few months later, I had my chance. I approached him and he remembered me, much to my delight. We sat and chatted about life and everything else over wine and oysters. I think I truely fell in love with him that night. We were again parted for several months, my heart longing to see him, to hear his voice, to smell his delicious scent. He was intoxicating like no alcohol could be.

When next we met, he gave me no chance to escape him. We left the party, and my date, behind. He took me to a beach in Hawaii and found a spot where we could see the waters lapp at the coast and gaze up at the stars. I didn't see much of the stars or ocean that night... my eyes were lost in his. I professed my love for him, and to my hearts desire, he expressed his having fallen in love with me as well. We spent the rest of the evening cuddled together in the car, just enjoying each other's company, and listening to each other's heart beat in time with the waves. That company we still enjoy, six years later, and a wedding to plan.
