Second Chance Love

The Man Who Loves Me For Who I Am
Dedicated to Mark Mullens

Submitted by Tina

Everyone loves him. He is an honest man who helps anyone in need and he wears his heart on his sleeve. He has always been there, for ten years that his mother was my babysitter, and I always had a crush on him. I was married when I first met Mark, he was shy and we only knew each in passing, we never spoke. My marriage was a horrible marriage. I couldn't do anything right and I could never please my husband. I was too fat, my feet were too big, and he found fault in everything I did. He set me up to be a failure. I gained from 135 lbs to 225 lbs in just 7 years. I ended up having a nervous breakdown and loosing my hair, I quite working for two years and became a hermit in my own home because I felt I was a failure. Then one day, God removed the scales from my eyes and showed me what this man was doing to me and how I was dying inside. I left him. Almost a year later, I began dating Mark, the most wonderful man I have ever known. He laughs, he makes me laugh, and he loves me for who I am. He made me feel sexy, even at 225 lbs. He accepts me for who I am and he brings light into my life. I am not a failure to him, I am a very beautiful and smart woman in his eyes. In just one year Mark has restored my confidence in myself, and I have lost down to 170 lbs. I have never known love the way Mark loves me. No matter what I ask for, he grants my wishes. And he looks at me with his big blue eyes with such love. I know in my heart, God sent Mark to me. I truly believe I had to go through my bad marriage to appreciate the love that Mark shows me day by day. Mark loves me for who I am, not what I look like and for that I take pride in myself.

Now Mark and I talk about getting married, living a great life together and retiring. We plan to travel during our retired years and Hawaii is my dream destination, we plan to vacation in Hawaii at least once during our marriage, because that is what I want. Mark grants my wishes, he wants me to be happy, so he promised we would vacation in Hawaii during our lifetime together.

Thank you Lord, you have truly blessed me with the greatest love I have ever known.
