Second Chance Love

Rediscovered
Dedicated to Tj

Submitted by Anonymous

It was seven years ago. We were neighbors, we were friends, then we were lovers. We kept our attraction for each other hidden, as I was not willing to reveal my affection towards you.

I did not want to commit my love to one man, after commencing a long relationship. We walked to our park to talk weekly, we spent every minute we could together, talking, laughing, enjoying each others company.

After years together, distance came between us, not only geographically, but from my desire to be with others. We kept in touch and reconnected through one of our favorite pastimes, golf.

Through the years, I always knew, I would never love anyone as much as I did you. Then, one New Year's Eve, 3 years later, you called. You asked if I were skiing, and I said yes, accompany me and we will spend the day together.

It was on that day, we talked, we shared, and the love I had for you was rekindled and I could not let it go.

Since I had hurt you, and you had been the one to call, I knew I had to be the one to consent my love for you.

The following day I did...I asked you for your hand in marriage and you complied.

I am ever so thankful that you have let me back into your heart, even after it was once broken. Therefore, I will spend the rest of my life, making up for the lost time we spent apart.

And, as you have always said, when asked, "when will the two of you get married"? And, you reply, "when she asks me". This has finally come true.

Since you have waited to visit an island until we marry, we will go to the beaches of Hawaii, to commit our lives to one another.

And, so it is, a second chance at love, a rediscovery of each other.
