Second Chance Love

How's Thursday for You?
Dedicated to Russell

Submitted by Cathy

Soul mates: but I was ready to give up, for he had never touched me. We had both been married long and divorced; he had given up on romance. Yet when we were together, the light brightened like dawn in Hawaii. Till one day. . . he reached across the table, took my hand, and kissed me. Just as in the movies, we spiralled, falling in love, deep, delighted, irrevocable. Next week we got together: "Well, when do you want to get married?" I asked. "How's Thursday for you?" he asked. "Thursday's good," I responded. Thursday it was, a perfect July day in our friend's garden-in-bloom--and every day after that for years.
