Love Stories of Hawaii

Timeless Love

Love at first flight
Dedicated to Veronica

Submitted by Jerry

I knew we would be married, I realized that as she passed by my 1963 Chevy in the parking lot of the ice cream shop on Burnside Avenue. I asked a friend who she was. He said "That is Veronica". I said okay, approached her and asked her out. We dated, I was already in love but she would take some time catching up. Doesn't that usually happen the other way around. Isn't the girl supposed to be the one with all the feelings. We went to dances, a prom, I even opened a joint checking account for us. We were 18 after all. Then we bought up some spaces on a trip to Hawaii sponsored by our High School. Seeing her on Easter morning in a church full of some of the most beautiful flowers on earth sealed the deal. Hawaii wasn't just a cool place in an Elvis movie anymore. My wife of over 30 years and I are coming back to Hawaii in April of 2004 (for Easter). Nothing I hope except Hawaii has changed.
