Love Stories of Hawaii

Second Chance Love

Meant to Be
Dedicated to Matt McRae

Submitted by Jean

On September 10, 2000 My wonderful 36 year old husband, Paul Moylan, lost his 2 year battle with colon cancer. Reeling from the shock of becoming a widow at 31, I attempted to gather myself together and managed to make a life for myself which mainly consisted of going to work, and returning home to fall asleep until another day would come. One day, an enexpected call was put through to my 5th grade classroom. The call was from an old friend who used to teach in my building. My friend said he was in the car with his brother, travelling to the airport for a trip to Ireland. He remembered my late husband was from Ireland and thought he would give his parents a call while travelling through their home town. A few days later, I received a call from my mother in law informing me that she had just met the man I was going to marry. I laughed at the thought. I had worked with this man for years and had no romantic thoughts about him whatsoever. I ran into my friend some months later and let him know in passing what my mother-in-law said. He asked me out and the rest, as they say, is history. Matt and I are to be married in the new year and can think of no more beautiful place than Hawaii. We both look forward to our second chance at love!
