Long Distance Love

To My Miracle
Dedicated to Matthew

Submitted by Nikki

To fall in love and to truly know, is a special gift. Meeting Matthew in a unconventional way that most do not understand makes it somehow our own.

I am a single mother of a 10 year old boy and had given up on love. I was convinced that I was going to be alone for the rest of my life.

I turned to the internet to possibly meet some pen pals. What I met was the man I am going to spend the rest of my life with.

We chatted online and I decided to give him my number. By Gods grace he called. We talked for weeks on the phone 4-5 hours a day. We got to know eachother inside and out. We shared a lot of stories, dreams, and wants. It was killing us that we lived 1150 miles away from eachother.

We could not wait any longer so he decided to fly me out to see him. After all we knew what we were doing.

As I flew into the Ontario airport all of my confidence went right out the window. I was so sure before, but now I thought I was going to faint due to all the anxiety I had. If I could jumped on a plane and went right back home I would of.

When I went down the escalator and saw Matthew walking across the street towards the baggage claim; all the anxiety left my body. Then when he approached me and looked into my eyes, I knew this was the man I was going to marry and be with for the rest of my days.

The weekend we spent together was much too short. However I am packing up and the day after Christmas, I am moving to California from Seattle to be with the love of my life.

We have even discussed getting married in Hawaii.

To my Miracle, I love you.
