True Love Stands The Test Of Time
Dedicated to My Wife Johnnie Gail
Submitted by Mike
The year was 1973 and I had just finished college and taken a teaching position in a small Mississippi town. Not to know this town held the love of my life, the mother of my children, and the best friend a man could ever have.
Long story short we married the next July, and plan to take our honeymoon in Hawaii but due to an illness that befell my father that caused me to return home to the family business that trip was not realized.
My love and myself started our family which consisted of 2 wonderful boys (now men) and a darling daughter (now woman) which kept us pretty much at home.
The year was 2001 and an opportunity came forward that gave us the chance to realize our honeymoon plans and go to Hawaii.
The visit came in July and we were able to spend our 27th wedding anniversary in Hawaii for a total of 10 days.
My love and myself made new vows to each other and that's when I realized time had been nothing but good to us and especially to her because I saw a beautiful, loving, caring, devoted, and sensitive woman that I still love dearly.
Time only changes the things and the people that want to be changed. True love is like visiting Hawaii: it is there to be looked upon because of it's beauty and it'd reality. My love for Johnnie will always remain precious, pure, dedicated, and beautiful just like our visit to the Hawaiian Islands made us feel about them.
Time has not changed Hawaii and time has not changed my love for my wife.
