Love Stories of Hawaii

Second Chance Love

Opening doors
Dedicated to My husband, Lee

Submitted by Laura

When God closes a window, He opens a door, and in walked my wonderful husband of now 4 years.

I had just ended a long marriage and was certain at my age and with 2 children that I couldn't have a future with another man.

I am so glad that I was so wrong! We dated for 6 months and decided to get married. He was in the military then and due to his work schedule, we knew we wouldn't be able to have a honeymoon.

He really wanted to take me to Honolulu so he got some leave time in the middle of Dec. 1998. The first day we did not spend at the beach, but at Pearl Harbor.

I learned that Hawaii is all about love: romantic love, love of others, and love of our country.
