Love Stories of Hawaii

Timeless Love

Protected
Dedicated to Lovers Everywhere

Submitted by Joan

It was sun
It was sand
common, as basic as water
so much to taste in an ocean drop
which washed the wooden bow of ships
the womb and crypt of countless nations

I waited
You lingered
but after moments, arrived
a shy smile trying to hide
that you feared love's ocean would drown
And float you away in the sly yellow morning

But finding
That I and Hawaii
Had been waiting long to find you
We came together on this island's salty sea
And wakened later, surprised after such violence - to still be safe
