Timeless Love

I'm Hopelessly In Love...Hawaii
Dedicated to My husband Don

Submitted by Brenda

It was 1991. It was our 15th wedding anniversary and my 20th class reunion from my high school in Ewa Beach, Hawaii. Oh, I had waited so long for this time to come there was no doubt in my mind where I wanted to go and who I wanted to take with me. My husband and I had just gotten back together after an 18 month seperation. We also had just renewed our vows and I did not want to use the same set of rings. I wondered what to do. I wanted something special for this renewal of vows, so I went to my jewlery box. There, with all of my worldly possessions was my Hawaiian Wedding Band that had my name Peleneka engraved on it. I had bought it when I was 18 thinking someday to use it. Certainly not thinking that it would take 20 yrs. I tried it on and it still fit. Beautifully upon my finger. The blessing of the ring has made it even more special to me. Now 12 yrs later I still wear it with love for my husband. We got married in Texas,( I really wanted Hawaii. )And all these years (26) I think of how lovely it would be to say those vows of love in the most beautiful place my eyes have ever seen.

Just 2 yrs ago we finally made it back to Oahu, and on the beach late one day, we did have our wedding. Oh, it wasn't one of the fancy ones, nor had we had someone make any special arrangements for our day. It was just the two of us holding hands, the sand, the ocean, warm sunny breezes. We renewed our vows once again there on the beach at Maili Cove. I could not have asked for a more beautiful ending to our visit to Hawaii. I admit it I'm hopelessly in Love...Hawaii and I'm so happy I was able to share it with my true love....DON...Aloha Nui Loa
