Love Stories of Hawaii

Second Chance Love

Mike and Brenda
Dedicated to

Submitted by Brenda

Mike and I dated when I was in high school. We had a beautiful daughter in 1982. Times were very difficult and jobs were hard to find at the time, so I moved back to my parents home in Texas. Mike was still here in Utah. Somehow, dispite our best efforts we just seemed to drift apart. Although we remained the best of friends. I could always talk to Mike about anything. Over the years we both married other people, but stayed in touch because of our daughter. There was still the chemistry between us. I had moved back to Utah during this time. I was married for 7 years to an alcoholic and had decided that I had taken all I could and I was getting a divorce. My husband at the time and I decided on wednesday it was definitely over and I made plans to move out. That sunday Mike called and asked if I could come over because he needed to talk to me. That was in September of 1995. I was afraid he wanted custody of our daughter, Angela. Instead we went for a ride, for 2 hours, and talked. He asked if I was happy in my marriage, and I told him of our pending divorce. He asked if I still loved him, and I of course said yes. he said "enough to marry me". I was scared to death, but so happy. He has been the love of my life since I was 16 years old. We were married on March 22,1996 with our daughter and our families there to witness it. And have since made each other as happy as two people can be. We have talked about going to Hawaii for years, and hope that we will get the chance to walk on the romantic beaches within the next year.
