Second Chance Love

I Married my Best Friend
Dedicated to Rich

Submitted by Cathy

When I was 19 years old and enrolled in college, I met the man with whom I thought I would spend the rest of my life. We were married shortly after graduation and although our life together was fine, over the years we grew apart and divorced after six years of marriage and one child. I became a single working mother and had all the challenges that come along with that life style. A year before my divorce I had changed jobs within my company and met alot of new friends, including a co-worker named Rich. Rich and I became good "working" friends and in the last weeks of my marriage, Rich was one of the few people who could make me laugh. While we did not see one another outside of the office, I considered Rich to be a close friend. After my divorce, Rich was very supportive and as time passed we became almost inseparable as friends. We had everything in common and enjoyed one another's company. Eventually our friendship turned into something more and we began dating and after two years we were married. I always knew it was my second chance at happiness. We have been married over six years now and although there have been hurdles in our lives, there is no question that marrying my best friend was the smartest thing I have ever done. When everything else has fallen apart, our friendship has held us together. My husband has been able to do many wonderful things for me financially and I have always wanted the chance to return his generosity. Just yesterday we were watching the Hawaiian Thanksgiving Day Parade and he mentioned how exciting it would be to visit the islands and then this morning I came in and pulled up your site and found this contest! I would love to be able to bring my husband to Hawaii and spend a romantic vacation with my dearest friend, my husband.
