Second Chance Love

It's Never Too Late
Dedicated to Michael Hardeman

Submitted by Laura

My husband and I have been together for 16 years. About 3 years ago, we fell in to the just-going-though-the-motions. We didn't talk, didn't make love, we had no marriage. When we did talk, it was only about the kids and their lives.

About one year and a half ago, we split up and it was nice not to fight any more. We both thought it was great. As time moved on, we started talking again. We didn't fight; we talked about us. We started going out to dinner and, yes, we started to make love again! It was great -- better than before!

We realized that we loved each other very much and didn't want to give up on our marriage! Well, now we are back together, the kids are happy, and we are very happy. We make sure we have time for us.

He has this thing about Hawaii. You see, he was born there, and always talks about going back. What makes this funny is that he is always telling the story that he is a native and has to go back to see his people. Well, my husband is African-American and was an Army brat. If there was one thing I could wish for, it would be to take him back to Hawaii, so he could see where he was born.
