Timeless Love

Our Paradise
Dedicated to My wife, Susy Q.

Submitted by Gary

Once I had heard that paradise was not a real place. It had only existed in our dreams. A place where we could escape to and get away from reality. I heard it existed on the other side of the world. As a young adult I had many dreams of finding you and then taking us far away to that paradise in my mind.

We were so happy and carefree when we first met. I wanted to share every dream with you for the rest of my life. Your british smile could light any city. I couldn't give you much, yet you asked for nothing. After ten wonderful years together I saved up enough to take you on that honeymoon I could never give you before, a timeless trip to Hawaii.

It was a short flight from Colorado, but it lasted forever. We giggled with glee as we planned all the things we would do on the four islands we were to visit during our seventeen days on the Hawaiian islands. You wanted to learn how to dive so that we could swim with turtles, or even dolphins. We would go see waterfalls and volcanoes, and we would walk barefoot, together holding hands at sunset, on a lonely beach.

Then you told me something that made life worth existing. You said that, as a little girl in England, you believed Hawaii was paradise because it was on the other side of the world. Welcome to paradise my love.
