Maui is the only island, other than Oahu, where partying into the night has a strong foothold and seems to be growing. Each year, a trendy new club seems to open, sometimes complete with celebrities who frequent the island.
Maui's nightlife world has a place for everyone. If your idea of evening fun is dancing to loud music with a horde of others similarly inclined, you'll find several clubs with top 40 music. If your tastes are more sedate, there are bars with Hawaiian music in a number of resorts as well as comedy and jazz clubs.
In general, Lahaina and Ka'anapali are the more happening scenes, but you can find fun all over the island, from Wailea to Paia.
If you like your entertainment Polynesian style, there's no lack of luau choices, complete with traditional foods, tropical drinks, and entertainment -- sweet Hawaiian music and swaying hula as well as rhythmic drums and shimmying dances of the South Pacific.
Sunset cruises are a favorite way to spend an evening and can range from drinks and pupus (hors d'oeuvres) to a sit-down dinner. Don't forget do-it-yourself options for nightlife -- champagne at sunset, a moonlight walk on the beach, a swim under the stars. Outside or inside, Maui has it all.
